Croatia August 2011: Hyundai i30 is the summer hit

New car sales in Croatia are back into positive ground in August, up 6% year-on-year to 2,812 sales. The year-to-date figure is up 14% at 29,612 registrations. The Hyundai i30 is at it again: after leading the Croatian models ranking for the first time ever in July, it holds onto its pole position in August thanks to 123 sales and 4.4% of the market. It is up to #5 year-to-date at 3.4%.

The VW Polo is up 1 spot to #2 at 109 units and 3.9%, just above the Opel Corsa, up 4 spots to #3. The Opel Astra, still leader year-to-date at 1,342 units and 4.5%, ranks 4th in August, 1 unit above the VW Golf. The Renault Clio is up 7 spots on July to #6, the VW Passat up 5 to #7 and the Skoda Octavia up 10 to #8, keeping its 2nd place year-to-date. The Skoda Fabia is back in the Top 10.

    Hi Matt!

    If there is going to be some new deviations from the usual ranking, it might be the consequence of the founding of a new taxi company (Oryx) in Zagreb, which presented its car fleet and bought 120 vehicles on leasing (Volkswagen and Audi).
