Argentina July 2011: VW Gol Power #1, Fiat Uno in Top 10

The Argentinian car market continues to over-deliver, up for the 21st month in a row at +24% with 71,674 registrations. The VW Gol previous generation, renamed Gol Power, accesses the throne this month with 3,212 sales and 4.5%, whereas it was only #38 in January and #13 in February! It is now #6 in 2011 year-to-date at 14,843 units and 2.9%.
The Chevrolet Classic drops to #2 with 3,052 sales (4.3%) but stays well ahead in 2011 at 26,706 units and 5.2% while Renault Sandero delivers an excellent month in 2nd place with 3,003 sales and 4.2%, ahead of the Peugeot 207 (4%) and VW Gol Trend (3.7%). The VW Bora continues to progress at #6 with 3% share.
This month’s best performer is the Fiat Uno new generation: it breaks into the Argentinian Top 10 for the very first time at #9 with 1,779 sales and 2.5%, up 8 spots on June. The Chevrolet Celta finds its rhythm, down 4 spots on June to #16 at 1,408 units and 2% and the Peugeot 408 breaks into the Top 30 for the first time at #28 with 869 sales and 1.2%.
