Romania June 2011: Dacia Logan strong, VW Jetta in Top 10

Romanian car sales are down 16% year-on-year in June at 8,606 units, and down 13% over H1 2011 at 31,758 registrations. The Dacia Logan continues its return back in shape, delivering its best market share in the country since November 2010 at 24.5% thanks to 2,108 sales.

The podium stays unchanged on May but the Skoda Octavia is down from 7.3% to 6.4% whereas the Dacia Duster is up from 4.4% to 5.3% share. The Opel Astra is up 2 spots to #4 ahead of the Renault Symbol stable at #5 and the Chevrolet Aveo, up one spot at #7.

The VW Jetta breaks into the Top 10 at #10 with 164 sales and 1.9%, it is #15 in 2011 so far vs. #31 in 2010. Other good performers this month in Romania include the Nissan Juke and Hyundai i20, both up 9 spots to #24 and #25 respectively.
