Romania May 2011: Dacia Logan at 23% share

Dacia Logan

Traditionally the Romanian new car market gets stronger as the year goes by and 2011 is no exception. May is up 70% over April but down 2% year-on-year at 8,474 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 23,152 units and -12%.

The Dacia Logan delivers its best market share in 7 months at 23.3% thanks to 1,974 sales, its year-to-date figures standing at 4,474 sales and 19.3%. The Skoda Octavia stays very stable and very solid at 7.3% and 617 sales in May, the Dacia Duster climbs back onto the podium, both in May and year-to-date at 4.4% share.

Below the VW Golf, the Renault Symbol is up 4 spots on April at #5 ahead of the Opel Astra, Chevrolet Aveo and VW Passat. The Ford Fiesta (+14 spots) and Focus (+6) round up the Top 10.
