Croatia June 2011: VW Polo dominates

VW Polo

Croatian car sales are up a very healthy 25% in June at 4,621 registrations and 19% over the first half of the year at 23,137 units. The VW Polo leads the ranking for the first time in 12 months with 318 sales and an exceptional 6.9% share, just above the Opel Corsa at 305 units and 6.6%.

The Opel Astra is a distant 3rd with 212 sales and 4.6%. It is #2 year-to-date at 1,087 units and 4.7% below the Skoda Octavia at 1,177 and 5.1%. However with the Octavia now back to more reasonable levels (#13 at 2%), the Astra should reclaim the Croatian leadership as early as next month.

Other good performers this month include the VW Passat at #5 with 3.9% share, the Ford Fiesta at #9 (2.7%) and the Citroen C3 at #11 with 96 sales and 2.1%.
