Latvia 2005: Toyota Corolla in command

16,680 new cars were registered in Latvia in 2005, up a huge 48% on 2004 and the Toyota Corolla is by far the best-selling model in the country with 811 sales and a very solid 4.9% market share, up 78%. It is followed on the podium by the Ford Focus at 635 units and 3.8% (+155%) and the Hyundai Getz with 532 sales and 3.2% (+34%).
The Opel Astra ranks 4th at 3.1% (+217%), ahead of the Skoda Octavia at 2.5% (+275%!), the Toyota Land Cruiser at 2.4% (+55%), the Toyota Avensis at 2.3% and the Renault Kangoo at 2.1%. The Mazda3 (2.1% also) and Mazda6, last year’s leader and the only model in the Top 10 to see its sales decrease, round up the Top 10. Notice the Mitsubishi Colt at #13, the Dacia Logan at #27, the Lexus RX at #35 with 127 sales and 0.8% share and the VW Touareg at #40.
