Greece 2002: Fiat Punto, Peugeot 206 and 307 on podium

New car sales are down 4% in 2002 in Greece to 268,287 registrations. In third place both in 2000 and 2001, the Fiat Punto is up 2 spots this year to hold the pole position for the first time since 1996 with 10,174 sales and 3.8%. The Greek models ranking is always relatively tight and 2002 is no exception: only 400 sales below is the Peugeot 206, gaining two more ranks to #2 with 9,757 sales and 3.6%.
The Peugeot 307 directly takes the third place for its first full year of sales with 9,553 units changing hands and 3.6% share. It even ranked #1 in September and December and is followed by the Toyota Corolla, Opel Astra and Hyundai Accent, all at 3.3%. Notice the Ford Focus breaking into the yearly Top 10 for the first time at #7 and the Fiat Stilo directly #17 for its first full year with 4,424 sales and 1.6%.
