The Italian car market is up 3% this year at 1,636,363 registrations. Unsurprisingly, the Fiat Uno is numero uno again with sales up a massive 35% year-on-year at 331,050 units and 20.2% market share, for the first time above 20% at year-end. Even though it drops 19% on 1983, the Fiat Panda is up one spot to #2 with 126,650 sales and 7.7%.

Fiat Regata

For its first full year of sales, the Fiat Regata delivers a mammoth 110,700 units for a 6.8% market share, edging past the Fiat Ritmo down 27% to 110,550 sales. This would remain the Regata’s best year. The Autobianchi A112 is in good shape at #5, up 14% to 67,500 units and 4.1% (this should be its best year too), followed by the VW Golf, best-selling foreign model in 6th place with 59,600 sales and 3.6%. The Alfa Romeo 33 is the best new entrant in the Top 10, landing directly at #7 with 50,700 sales and 3.1%

Nice here.. The Lancia Prisma was considerated a for quality, price and performances a really “Premium” mid-car and that 8th position is a great performances in a market, like the italian, who was almost his bif number for little-medium car from generalist producers of that time like Fiat, Renault, Ford and VW brands. Lancia was the only Premium brand here because the same alfa33 was priced like a generalist car
