Luxembourg May 2018: VW Golf and Audi A3 top market down 3.1%

According to data released by our partner JATO Dynamics, the Luxembourg new car market is down 3.1% year-on-year in May to 5.361 registrations, yet the YTD volume remains in positive territory at +5.4% to 25.028. The VW Golf (+56%) cements its leadership with a stunning year-on-year gain, the Audi A3 (-9%) is up to #2 in May and #4 year-to-date despite falling three times faster than the market and the Renault Clio (-14%) is up four spots on April to round up the podium despite a steep decline. The Mercedes GLC gains 9% and one spot to #4 but drops to #5 YTD, with the Peugeot 3008 (+54%) and VW Polo (+44%) also in great shape in the Top 10.

Luxembourg April 2018: BMW X1 and Audi A3 on podium

The BMW X1 surges to #2 overall in Luxembourg in April.

According to data released by our partner JATO Dynamics, new car sales in Luxembourg gain a solid 10.4% year-on-year to 5.371 units, lifting the year-to-date tally up 8% to 19.667 registrations. The VW Golf continues to post ultra-dominant figures thanks to sales more than doubling year-on-year in April (+107%) to 6.1% share vs. 4.6% year-to-date. The BMW X1 returns to the YTD Top 10 directly at #6, earning the 2nd spot for the month while the Audi A3 gains 25% year-on-year and five spots on March to land on the third step of the podium, now ranking #5 YTD. The VW Polo (+21%) and Mercedes GLC (+50%) round up the Top 5 while the VW Tiguan drops 18% to #6 but remains #2 YTD.

Luxembourg March 2018: VW Golf leads, Mercedes GLC & A-Class shine

Discounts on the outgoing generation push the Mercedes A-Class up 92% in Luxembourg.

According to data released by our partner JATO Dynamics, the Luxembourg new car market edges up 3.6% year-on-year in March to 5.379 registrations, leading to a Q1 volume up 7.2% to 14.296 units. The VW Golf continues to dominate the models charts, up a stunning 69% year-onyear and selling almost double the #2, the VW Tiguan down 8%. The Renault Clio soars 37% but remains at #3, the Mercedes GLC is up 14% to now rank #4 YTD and the Mercedes A-Class surges 92% to #5, upgrading to #6 YTD. The Peugeot 3008 also shines at +111% in 7th place.

Peugeot 3008 sales are up 95% year-on-year in Luxembourg.

According to data released by JATO Dynamics, new car sales in Luxembourg advance 12.9% year-on-year in February to 4.565 units, leading to a year-to-date volume up 9.4% to 8.917. Below the VW Golf and Tiguan in the lead despite both losing ground – 9% and 2% respectively, the Renault Clio jumps to #3 with 1.9% share ahead of the Peugeot 3008 up 95% and the Peugeot 308 up 68%. The Fiat 500 (+97%) and Mercedes A Class (+31%) also impress.

Luxembourg January 2018: Golf #1, BMW places 3 models in Top 8

The BMW X3 is up 5-fold year-on-year to land at #8.

According to data released by JATO Dynamics, new car sales in Luxembourg gain 5.9% in January to 4.349 units. The VW Golf remains faraway leader with deliveries up a fantastic 29% year-on-year to 4.6% share, the only nameplate above 2% share. The Skoda Octavia (+45%) and VW Tiguan (-15%) follow on the podium while the Mercedes C-Class surges 38% to #4 and the Mercedes GLC is up 3% to #5. Premium carmaker BMW manages to place three nameplates in the Top 8: the 1 Series (+38%) at #6, the X1 (-20%) at #7 and the recently renewed X3 (+400%) at #8. The Fiat 500 (+89%) and Peugeot 308 (+22%) also make themselves noticed.

New car sales in Luxembourg are up 4.4% in 2017 to 52.775 registrations, with the VW Golf remaining atop the models ranking thanks to deliveries up 13% to 3.5% share and Volkswagen managing a 1-2 with the Tiguan up 50% to #2. The Renault Clio (-5%) and Audi A3 (+2%) are both knocked down one spot to #3 and #4 while the Mercedes GLC storms into the annual Top 5 with sales up 72% on 2016. Mercedes also places the C-Class at #7 (-13%) while BMW has the X1 at #6 (-3%) and the 1 Series at #9 (+6%). The Skoda Octavia also breaks into the Top 10 in spite of sales down 13%, while the Renault Scenic, Audi A4 and Mercedes A-Class exit.

Luxembourg November 2017: Peugeot 3008 now in YTD Top 10

New car sales in Luxembourg are up 14.4% in November to 4.389 units and up 5.1% year-to-date to 49.931. The VW Golf cements its domination with a 39% surge in November to 4.4% share, followed by the Renault Clio at 3.7% (-6%) and the BMW X1 at 2.8% (-10%). The Mercedes GLC continues two impress with a 55% surge in November to 2.2% share and #4 while the Audi A3 (+37%) rounds up the Top 5 at 2.0% share. Thanks to an estimated 85 sales this month, the Peugeot 3008 breaks into the Luxembourg YTD Top 10, landing at #10.

Luxembourg October 2017: VW Golf and Mercedes C-Class shoot up

The Mercedes C-Class is up 171% year-on-year to #3 in Luxembourg this month.

The Luxembourg new car market is up 9.2% year-on-year in October to 4.670 sales, lifting the year-to-date tally up 4.3% to 45.542 units. Not content with leading the overall sales charts, the VW Golf also posts a stunning performance this month with deliveries up 158% year-onyear to 5.3% share. It is followed by the Renault Clio down 51% to 2.8% and the Mercedes C-Class up 171% to 2.8%. The Audi A3 (-6%) and VW Tiguan (-7%) also deliver three-digit sales figures in Luxembourg in October, rounding up the Top 5. The Hyundai Tucson (+49%) is the other Top 10 nameplate in positive this month, earning the 9th place YTD as a result.

The Luxembourg new car market is up a solid 11.2% year-on-year in September, lifting the year-to-date tally up 3.8% to 40.872 units. Overtaken by the Mercedes GLC last month, the VW Golf reclaims its throne in September thanks to deliveries up 55% to 4.7% share vs. 3.1% so far this year. The VW Tiguan (+24%) is faithful to the 2nd place it holds year-to-date while the BMW X1 leaps up on the September podium thanks to sales up 46% but remains #6 year-to-date. The Mercedes GLC ranks 4th this month (+81%) and 5th year-to-date (+119%) and the BMW 1 Series reappears in the YTD Top 10 at #9.

The Luxembourg new car market is up 2.1% year-on-year in August to 3.428 registrations, meaning the year-to-date tally is now up 3% to 36.903. Big surprise atop the models ranking for August: the Mercedes GLC, #5 year-to-date, soars to pole position thanks to sales up 237% year-on-year to 2.9% share. It distances the VW Golf (-4%) and Tiguan (-8%) separated by only one unit. The BMW X1 (+2%) follows at #4 but remains #6 year-to-date. Thanks to sales up 77% on August 2017, the Fiat 500 breaks into the Year-to-date Top 10 at #8.
