Greece September 2026: Chery hits record ranking, places Tiggo 4 at #4

The Chery Tiggo 4 is up to a record 4th place in Greece in September.

After plunging -37.1% in August, the Greek new car market rallies back up 4.3% in September to 12,802 units. This leads to a year-to-date volume up 2.6% to 115,172. Toyota (+2.5%) easily keeps the brands pole position with 17.5% share, almost 3 times the #2 Peugeot (-3.5%) at 6%. Suzuki (-18.2%) freefalls at #3 ahead of a stable BMW (+0.3%) up 8 spots on last month to #4. Dacia (+20.4%) and Opel (+22%) impress below but the performer of the month is without a doubt Chery (+681.7%) up 8-fold year-on-year and 9 spots on August to a record 8th place with 555 sales and 4.3% share. This is the third time the Chinese carmaker breaks into the Greek Top 10 after last July and last December (both #9). Outstanding results further down by Kia (+35.6%), BYD (+88.7%) and Omoda (+1140%). We welcome Lepas at #46 with its first 10 sales.

Model-wise, the Toyota Yaris Cross (-16.4%) returns to the top spot it holds year-to-date despite a harsh year-on-year fall. It is followed by the Toyota Yaris (+61.1%) in great shape again at #2. The Peugeot 2008 (-8.3%) drops one rank on last month to #3 but the surprise of the month comes from the Chery Tiggo 4 (+6600%) back up 19 spots to a record #4, also hit last December. The Dacia Sandero (+30.6%) is also in outstanding shape this month, up 20 ranks to #5. Excellent performance also by the BMW X1 (+21.1%) at #8, the Citroen C3 Aircross (+40.2%) at #10, the Toyota Aygo X (+44.6%) at #12 and the Omoda 5 (+1042.1%) at #17.
