Panama June 2026: Chery (+123%) breaks records, places Tiggo 8 inside Top 10

First Top 10 finish for the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro.

New light vehicle sales in Panama are impacted by the World Cup at -1.8% year-on-year in June to 4,468 units. However the H1 2026 tally is strong at +10.4% to 31,157. Toyota (+3.6%) goes against the negative market and cements its dominance with 17.5% share, distancing Hyundai (-3.2%) at 12.7% and Kia (-21.2%) at 10.1% both in difficulty. Geely (+3.5%) is up two spots on May to lead the Chinese force at #4 with 5.3% share while Suzuki (-14.8%) rounds out the Top 5 like last month. Up to a record 4th place in May, Changan (-2.2%) returns to #6 which is still above the #7 it holds year-to-date. Chery (+123%) is up 12 spots on last month to a record #7 with 3.7% share vs. 2% so far this year. Dongfeng (+150%) and Jetour (+42%) also impress in the remainder of the Top 10.

Model-wise, the Hyundai Grand i10 (+29.3%) lodges a 5th straight monthly win with 7.9% share vs. 5.8% year-to-date, finally grabbing the YTD top spot off the Toyota Hilux (-1.4%) at #2 this month. The Kia Soluto (-24.7%) struggles but stays on the podium at #3, ahead of the Toyota Yaris Cross (+48.6%) and Hyundai Creta (+8.4%). The Suzuki Jimny (-12.8%) returns to the Top 10 at #7 despite a harsh year-on-year fall. Finally this is the first Top 10 finish for the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro at #10.
