Middle East April 2026: Market down -30.9%, Jetour, Haval soar

Haval H9 sales across the region double year-on-year in April.

This is a new update on BSCB, following the total volumes for 11 countries, as the war in the region makes these markets particularly interesting. This post combines data for Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Syria and Yemen. Iran is treated in a separate update. Complete monthly data by country is also available, contact us here for more details. Volumes across the region are hit hard in April at -30.9% year-on-year to just 94,806 units. The year-to-date tally is down an equally harsh -23.1% to 448,605. Note Saudi Arabia accounts for 54% of the region’s total for the month and 49% year-to-date, having a large impact on the rankings.

Toyota (-34.7%) unsurprisingly leads the brands ranking by far with 27.4% share for the month, to be compared with a round 30% year-to-date. Hyundai (-29.5%) follows with a much more modest 10.1% share with Kia (-39.2%) in third place at 7.7%. Going against the negative market is Jetour (+14.4%) up to #4 with 6.2% share while Nissan (-42.6%) completely implodes at #5 with 5.5% share vs. 8.3% year-to-date. Apart from Tesla (+81.4%) but at a minuscule 0.4% share, all gainers are Chinese: Soueast (+158%), Haval (+36.7%) and Changan (+4.3%) shine as BYD (#14) and Denza (#25) make their entrance.

Model-wise, the impact of Saudi Arabia can be seen, with the Hyundai Accent (+25.9%), Elantra (+28.4%) and Toyota Yaris Sedan (+345.3%) in the lead. The Toyota Hilux (-61.3%) is in freefall at #4 but remains #1 year-to-date as it was also over the Full Year 2025. The Toyota Land Cruiser (-55.1%) completes the Top 5 ahead of the Nissan Patrol (-28.5%) and Toyota Camry (-37.8%). Notice the Haval H9 (+89.8%) up to #12, the MG 3 (+41.2%) up to #14 and the Chevrolet Tahoe (+22.1%) up to #21. The Jetour G700 (#32) is the most popular recent launch ahead of the BYD Song Plus (#40) and Haval V7 (#58).
