Croatia April 2026: Opel Frontera up to record 2nd place

The Opel Frontera is only outsold by the Skoda Octavia in April.

New car sales in Croatia drop -5.8% year-on-year in April to 8,465 units. However after a strong start of the year the YTD tally is still in positive at +5.2% to 25,203. Skoda (-4%) returns to its traditional pole position in the brands ranking with a strong 12.1% share. It is followed this month by Opel (+82.1%) up two spots on March to #2. Volkswagen (+0.6%) stays at #3 whereas Renault (-42.1%), leader last month and a year ago, is in complete freefall at #4. Hyundai (+3.4%) is the only additional YoY gainer in the Top 10, with Suzuki (-21.7%) and Dacia (-21.1%) hit the hardest. Further down, BYD (+636.8%), MG (+271.7%) and Mini (+204.3%) all post surreal upticks.

Over in the models charts, the Skoda Octavia (-8.2%) is back to #1 with 5.2% share, in line with the 5.1% it commands year-to-date. The new Opel Frontera is the performer of the month, up to a record 2nd place with 4.4% share. It ranks #6 so far this year. The Mokka (+158.6%) makes it two Opel models on the podium. #1 last month and a year ago, the Renault Clio (-50.7%) halves its year-ago sales and falls to #4 but poor results from similarity selling models means it is actually up to #2 year-to-date. First Croatian Top 20 finishes for the Volvo XC40 (#19) and Dacia Bigster (#20).
