Toyota (+14.5%) significantly trails the overall growth rate but still manages to stay in the brands pole position with 16.8% share vs. 21.7% last year. Volkswagen (+46.5%) is catching up at 16.3% share, followed by Fiat (+57.9%) and Renault (+65.7%) both outstanding. Chevrolet (+96.3%), Jeep (+70.1%) and Citroen (+69.5%) all shine in the remainder of the Top 10. Below, Haval (+838.6%), Hyundai (+577.7%), BAIC (+489.9%) and Kia (+335.4%) all post surreal gains.
In the models charts, thanks to a bumper December result, the Toyota Hilux (+6.1%) snaps a last minute win and its first pole position since 2020 despite losing over two percentage points of market share to 5.3%. The Toyota Yaris (+44.5%), #1 YTD for most of the year, ends up at #2, a stark improvement on the #5 it held in 2024. The Fiat Cronos (+6.7%) stays at #3 ahead of last year’s winner the Peugeot 208 (-2%) down from 7.6% share to 5%. The Chevrolet Tracker (+61.2%) is the only remaining Top 10 member to beat the market at #9, with the VW Polo (+34.1%), Amaro (+28.4%) and Taos (+25.3%) dynamic but losing share. The Citroen Basalt ends its first full year in market at #25 while the VW Tera lands at #38 and ranked #3 in November and December.
