Mexico August 2025: Nissan places 5 models in Top 8, Magnite continues to improve
The Nissan Magnite is up to a record 8th place in Mexico in August.
The Mexican new light vehicle market is down -3% year-on-year in August to 124,180 units, leading to a year-to-date tally off -0.6% to 958,085. Keep in mind Chery Group has stopped sharing Mexican sales data in the interim so we’re looking at a stable market. Kia (+9.8%) is back above Mazda (-6.2%) to round out the top 5 as it does year-to-date. Ram (+18.3%) sports the biggest gain in the Top 15 with Ford (+1%) also in positive in the remainder of the Top 10. Changan (+263.4%) reaches new heights.
Over in the models charts, the Nissan Versa (-8%) holds onto the top spot ahead of the Chevrolet Aveo (+21.7%) passing the Kia K3 (+16.4%) for 2nd place. The Nissan NP300 (-9.7%) stays at #4 with Nissan placing five models in the Top 8: add the March (+15.1%) at #5, the Kicks (+69.4%) at #6 and the new Magnite at a record #8. The Mazda CX-30 (+40.9%) finds its way into 7th place with the Chevrolet S10 (+54.8%) equalling its record ranking at #9, also reached in April 2024.
