The Renault Arkana is the 2nd best-selling vehicle in Cyprus in April.
According to our local partners SEMO Cyprus and INNOSOFT, the Cypriot new car market collapses -31.8% year-on-year in April to just 1,096 units. As a reminder, April 2024 was up 105.4% on the year prior. The year-to-date tally is now down -8.7% to 5,546. Kia (-48.5%) keeps the lead of the brands charts despite imploding year-on-year. Just 9 units below is Toyota (+0.7%) which manages the only year-on-year uptick in the Top 5. Mercedes (-14.9%), Volkswagen (-24.5%) and Hyundai (-52.7%) follow. In contrast Jeep (+353.8%), Renault (+121.2%) and Audi (+52.8%) all post market-defying surges.
Model-wise, the Hyundai Tucson (-61%) takes the lead with 5.2% share, with the performer of the month being the Renault Arkana (+276.9%) up from outside the March Top 20 directly into 2nd place. As a result it climbs to #8 year-to-date vs. #16 over the Full Year 2024. The VW T-Roc (-6.4%), Kia Sportage (-61.6%) and Toyota Yaris Cross (-44.4%) complete the Top 5. Still #1 year-to-date, the Kia Stonic (-65.1%) falls to #8 for the month.
