Israel March/Q1 2025: Hyundai Kona and Jaecoo J7 best-sellers
The Hyundai Kona is the most popular vehicle in Israel over Q1 2025.
According to our local partner cartube.co.il, 26,685 new light vehicles found a buyer in Israel in March. The Q1 volume is up 9% to 97,090. Toyota (+59.1%) posts its first monthly win of the year with 15% share vs. 12.1% so far this year. Hyundai (+25.7%) is knocked down to #2 but still delivers a very dynamic YoY result. Scoring by far the best performance in the Top 10, Nissan (+565.9%) is up almost 7-fold year-on-year and shoots up 10 spots on last month to #3 with 10% share vs. 4.2% and #6 over Q1. Kia (-7.1%) and Skoda (-21.3%) struggle unlike Chery (+5.4%). Newcomer Jaecoo confirms it is an instant blockbuster in Israel with a 7th spot overall and 4.2% share. BYD (-50%) sinks whereas Xpeng (+151.2%), MG (+85.1%) and Seat (+38.1%) stun.
Model-wise, over Q1 the Hyundai Kona (+146.8%) takes the overall lead with 4.9% share, it ranked #1 in February and March, #8 over the Full Year 2024 and #6 over Q4 2024. The Jaecoo J7 is up to a fantastic 2nd place with 4.1% share and was the overall best-seller in January. Hyundai also places the Elantra (+11.4%) at #3 with 3.1% of the market. The Skoda Octavia (+33.2%) ranks at #4 vs. #19 over Q4 while last quarter’s leader the Toyota Corolla Cross (+401.6%) is down to #5 but still up 5-fold on a year ago. Excellent showings also by the Toyota Yaris Cross (+124.8%), Kia Picanto (+30.6%), Toyota RAV4 (+77.4%) and Hyundai Venue (+419.3%). Leader over the Full Year 2024, the BYD Atto 3 (-62.9%) freefalls to #11, however this is still better than the #16 it held over Q4 last year.
