Czechia March 2025: 7 Skodas in Top 7, Elroq up to #16

The Skoda Elroq already outsells fellow BEV the Enyaq.

22,566 new cars found a buyer in Czechia in March, a stellar 19.3% year-on-year improvement, keeping in mind March 2024 was off -15.5% on the year prior. The year-to-date volume after three months is up 3.6% to 59,686. Local behemoth Skoda outpaces its galloping home market with a 38.9% year-on-year surge to 35.5% share, Hyundai (+0.9%) is a lot more fragile but still manages a 2nd place ranking with 8.2% of the market. Volkswagen (+18.8%) matches the market but drops to 6.2% share vs. 7.2% over Q1. Toyota (-22.9%) endures the only year-on-year fall in the Top 15 at #4. In contrast Ford (+82.1%) lodges the biggest gain in the Top 10 with MG (+76.7%) and Audi (+58%) also excelling below. Tesla actually surges 196.7% on March 2024 but stays modest with a 1.6% share at #15.

Skoda places seven models in the Top 7 for the 6th time ever after January 2022, April 2023, May 2023, July 2024 and September 2024. The Octavia (-0.6%) reigns supreme at 7.9% share, distancing the Karoq (+58.7%) and Kamiq (+111.8%). The Fabia (+48.3%) and Kodiaq (+42.9%) are also in outstanding shape whereas the Scala (-15%) struggles. Finally the Superb (+68%) flies off at #7. Note Skoda “only” monopolises the Top 6 over Q1, with the Superb the odd one out at #9 and the Hyundai i30 the best of the rest at #7. In March though, this honour goes to the Hyundai Tucson (+27.5%) at #8. The Kia Ceed (+115.1%) also makes itself noticed at #9. The new Skoda Elroq surges 28 spots on last month to break into the Top 20 for the first time at #16, ahead of fellow BEV the Enyaq (+312.5%) at #20.
