Russia February 2025: Market collapses -24.9%
Belgee sales are up 92% year-on-year in Russia.
After many months of catch-up growth, the Russian new car market collapses -24.9% year-on-year in February to 78,040 units, pulling the YTD total into negative territory at -9.3% to 167,112. Lada (-14.5%) resists better to 31.5% share. Haval (-20.1%) and Chery (-15.5%) also gain market share year-on-year to 12.3% and 10.7% respectively. But Geely (-58.4%) and Omoda (-34.7%) fall significantly faster than the market at #4 and #6 while Changan (-26.2%) matches it at #5. In contrast Belgee (+92%) continues to gear up just as recently launched Jetour (+22.5%) and Jaecoo (+39.8%) also do. Although back inside the Top 10 for the first time since last October, Exeed (-57.8%) implodes year-on-year.
In the models ranking, the Lada Granta (-27.2%) suffers and falls to its lowest market since last September at 12.2%. The Lada Vesta (+14%) is up on year-ago volumes denoting its progressive return to traditional production levels. The Haval Jolion (-25.2%), Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max (-2.9%) and Lada Niva Travel (-33.6%) ensure the Top 5 is unchanged on last month. Meanwhile the Lada Niva Legend (-49.4%) implodes but gains one spot on January to #6, overtaking the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro (-24.6%). Good resistance by the Changan UNI-S/CS55 Plus (-0.5%) at #8 while the Lada Largus (+4093.6%) enjoys a return to availability in the country.
