Mexico February 2025: Ram (+59.1%), Mazda (+40.3%) highlight 2nd largest February in history

117,679 new light vehicles found a buyer in Mexico in February, a +2.9% year-on-year nudge. This is the 2nd highest February volume of all time, just below the 117,985 units of February 2017. Nissan (+17%) vastly outpaces its “home away from home” market to 18.2% share, its best since March 2024. Chevrolet (-4.5%) falls behind at 12.3% of the market with Volkswagen (+1.6%) completing the podium. Mazda (+40.3%) surges to #4 with 7.9% share, its best result since a record last November when it also ranked #4. Kia (+10%) stays at #5 ahead of Toyota (-14.1%), Hyundai (+1.7%) and Ford (-5.4%) all underperforming. Suzuki (+7.4%) is the only additional Top 10 member to beat the market. Below, Volvo (+89.4%), Porsche (+66.5%), Ram (+59.1%), Changan (+58.2%) and GWM (+55.3%) make themselves noticed.
The models ranking goes back to its Full Year 2024 order, with the Nissan Versa (+12.3%) in the lead as usual, followed by the Nissan NP300 (+43.3%) and Chevrolet Aveo (+9.1%). In fact, strikingly the Top 11 models all outrun the overall growth rate. The Mazda2 (+142.8%) and VW Jetta (+80.5%) are the most dynamic, with the Nissan March (+32.4%), VW Taos (+31.2%) and Mazda CX-30 (+16.5%) also very strong. Mazda places three models inside the Top 9 with the Mazda3 (+9.9%) up to #8 for the month.
