Bulgaria Full Year 2024: Skoda and Octavia sign first wins in record market

New car sales in Bulgaria soar 15.9% year-on-year in 2024 to 49,751 units, believed to be a new record, eclipsing the previous high mark established in 2008. Total vehicles add up to 62,475, also new all time high. After two years of reign by Toyota, Skoda (+53.4%) surges ahead in the brands ranking, recording its first ever annual win in the country. It holds 12.8% share vs. 9.7% last year when it ranked #3. Toyota (+14.1%) and Dacia (+13.4%) both drop one spot to #2 and #3 respectively. Renault (+13%) and Volkswagen (+2.1%) camp on their 2023 ranking to round out the Top 5. Ford (+43.7%) also shines in the remainder of the Top 10 while Chinese fare Forthing breaks into the Top 20 at #19.
Over in the models charts, the Skoda Octavia (+56.1%) is up three spots to lodge its first ever pole position, having ranked #4 in 2023. The Toyota Corolla (+38%) stays in 2nd place while last year’s leader the Dacia Sandero (+1.8%) is down to #3. It is followed closely by the Dacia Jogger (+58%). The Skoda Kamiq (+75%) and Kia Sportage (+44.9%) also record fantastic gains below. The Skoda Kodiaq (+87.4%) is up 14 ranks on 2023 to crack the Top 10 at #9.
