The Czech new car market gains 4.6% year-on-year in 2024 to 231,600 sales. Local hero Skoda (+0.8%) is stable and sees its share drop from 35% to 33.7%. Hyundai (+1.2%) follows like in 2023 with 8.8% share while Toyota (+8.9%) overtakes Volkswagen (-17.9%) to snap the third position. Renault (+37.5%), Dacia (+20.3%) and Ford (+16.7%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10. Further down, Tesla (+129.7%) is up 7 spots to #15, with Volvo (+66.4%), MG (+57.2%) and Lexus (+52.1%) also posting outstanding upticks.

Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia (-11%) celebrates 15 years out of 16 as the best-seller at home, a streak that started in 2009. The only missing year is 2021 when the Fabia was #1. For the second year in a row and ever, Skoda monopolises the Top 6 models. It even managed to place 7 models in the Top 7 in July and September. The Karoq (+20.1%) and Kodiaq (+19.3%) both score tremendous lifts and break their annual ranking records at #2 and #3 respectively. The Kamiq (+0.6%) stays at #4 while the Scala (-3.5%) is down two spots to #5 and the Fabia (-12.9%) down four to #6. The Hyundai i30 (+13.1%) is once again the best of the rest at #7 while the Superb (+17.4%) makes it 7 Skodas in the Top 8.
