Finland November 2024: Tesla Model Y #1, Skoda Kamiq up to record #4
The Skoda Kamiq smashes its Finnish ranking record.
It’s a miserable 12th consecutive month of year-on-year drop for the Finnish new car market in November at -5% to 6,264 units. The year-to-date volume is now down a ghastly -17.4% to 66,365. Toyota (-21.4%) and Skoda (-23.6%) camp on their October ranking despite falling faster than the market. Volkswagen (+65.3%) defies the negative context with a tremendous lift to 12% share vs. 8.9% so far this year. Audi (+9.7%) and Volvo (+4.4%) are the only additional gainers in the Top 10, just as BMW (-31.5%), Mercedes (-28.8%), Tesla (-25.2%), Hyundai (-21.9%) and Kia (-21.2%) all crater. Porsche (+217.6%), BYD (+216.7%), Opel (+155.2%) and Renault (+108.8%) all surge ahead.
Over in the models charts, the Tesla Model Y (-18.8%) falters but still signs its 2nd monthly pole position this year alongside last September. This way, the Model Y ascends to #4 year-to-date, still way below the top spot it held over the Full Year 2023. The Toyota Yaris Cross (+10.7%) is back up to #2, its YTD ranking, pushing the Toyota Corolla down to #3. The Corolla remains #1 year-to-date. The Skoda Kamiq (+137.9%) smashes its ranking record to #4, eclipsing its previous best of #10 reached just last month. It distances the Skoda Enyaq (-30.6%), down from #1 last month to #5. The Opel Astra (+117.7%) and Toyota C-HR (+86.6%) shine, while the VW ID.7 (+316.7%) breaks into the Finnish Top 10 for the first time, equal #10 with the C-HR.
