United Arab Emirates October 2024: Nissan Patrol up to #2 in solid market

The Nissan Patrol is the 2nd best-selling car in the UAE in October.

27,985 new light vehicles found a buyer in the United Arab Emirates in October, a solid 10.9% year-on-year improvement. The year-to-date tally is up by a similarly robust 10.2% to 250,834. Market leader Toyota (+3.9%) can’t catch up with the market growth but still manages a dominant 26.1% share vs. 25.4% so far this year. Nissan (+30.6%) surges ahead to 19% share vs. 16.6% year-to-date hike Mitsubishi (+13.4%) also beats the market at #3. MG (+111.3%) shoots up year-on-year to cement its 4th place, a ranking it also holds year-to-date. All remaining Top 10 members bar Kia (+4.8%) outpace the overall growth rate: Ford is up 45%, Chevrolet up 43.8%, Geely up 33.5% to 3.9% share vs. 2.7% year-to-date, Mazda up 24.9% and Hyundai up 15.5%.

Model-wise, the Nissan Sunny (+23.8%) remains the best-seller in the nation with a strong 6.8% share vs. 5.3% so far this year. The Nissan Patrol (+44.2%) overtakes the Toyota Hilux to land in 2nd place but remains #3 year-to-date. The Toyota Land Cruiser (+35.7%) and Hiace (+40%) are also in great shape below but the Chevrolet Captiva (+214.5%) does even better at #6. The Land Rover Defender (+17.5%) confirms it is now part of the UAE Top 10 at #10 both in October and year-to-date.
