Ireland October 2024: Toyota Yaris Cross delivers first victory
The Toyota Yaris Cross is the best-seller in Ireland this month.
In October, new car sales in Ireland post their first positive year-on-year result since last February at +9.7% to 2,423 units. The year-to-date tally remains in negative however at -1.2% to 119,668. Toyota (+30.4%) has a fantastic month and cements its lead in the brands charts. It is followed like last month and YTD by Volkswagen (-18.5%) in difficulty. BMW (+22.9%) is up six spots on September to land on the third step of the podium, distancing Skoda (+64.1%), Kia (+47.6%), Hyundai (+63.5%) and Nissan (+365.4%) all enjoying an even better month.
Over in the models ranking, the Toyota Yaris Cross (+136.8%) signs its first ever win with 3.7% share but is stuck in 5th place in the year-to-date charts vs. #4 over the Full Year 2023. The VW Tiguan (+285%) is up to #2 ahead of the Skoda Octavia (+174.1%), Kia Sportage (+54.3%) and Toyota RAV4 (+335.7%) all sporting fantastic gains. The Nissan Leaf comes out of nowhere directly into 6th place vs. #84 year-to-date. #1 last month, the Skoda Kodiaq (+95.5%) falls to #10 but still soars year-on-year. The Hyundai Tucson (+50%) remains the YTD best-seller but only ranks #8 this month.
