Chile July 2024: Top 5 100% pickups in 2nd market lift in 2 years
The Maxus T60 ranks 5th in Chile in July.
25,087 new light vehicles hit Chilean roads in July, making it only the 2nd positive month in 2 years at +8.8% year-on-year. The year-to-date tally remains in negative however at -8.1% to 167,573. Toyota (-7.5%) doesn’t capitalise on the overall growth but stays in the brands first place nonetheless. Suzuki (+20.7%) climbs four spots on last month to #2, distancing Chevrolet (+5.7%) and Kia (+29.8%). GWM (+73.8%), Changan (+58.6%) and MG (+52%) all impress in the remainder of the Top 10. As a whole, Chinese manufacturers are up a splendid 30.8% year-on-year to 30.9% share vs. 29.8% so far this year.
The Toyota Hilux (-9.7%) continues its run atop the models ranking at 3.1% share, distancing the GWM Poer (+22.5%) and Mitsubishi L200 (+190.8%) like last month. In fact the Top 5 models are all pickups with the Ford Ranger (+16.2%) and Maxus T60 (+16.6%) in tow. The Chevrolet Groove (-5.6%) is the best of the rest but drops two spots to 6. Excellent performance also by the Kia Soluto (+64.5%), Ford Territory (+46.6%) and Suzuki Baleno (+17.9%)
