Slovakia June 2024: Citroen C3, VW T-Cross euphoric in market up 4.5%
Citroen C3 sales are up 560% in June.
New car sales in Slovakia edge up 4.5% year-on-year in June to 8,746 units, leading to a H1 2024 tally up 3.7% to 47,142. Market leader Skoda (-16.8%) struggles to a meagre 16.8% share vs. 20.3% so far this year, but Volkswagen (+43.6%) surges ahead to 9.6% share at #2. Kia (-5.9%), Hyundai (-32.2%) and Toyota (-28.5%) disappoint below. In contrast Suzuki (+120.7%), Citroen (+63.5%), Mercedes (+19.8%) and Dacia (+9%) all beat the market while Renault (+2.6%) falls just short.
The Skoda Octavia (-35.2%) remains the most popular vehicle in the country despite a drastic year-on-year loss pushing it down to just 4% share vs. 5.5% year-to-date. The Skoda Fabia (+6.7%) and Dacia Duster (+32.6%) both advance one spot on May to #2 and #3 respectively, with the Kia Ceed (+12.9%) and Hyundai i30 (+13.3%) also solid and the Citroen C3 (+560%) euphoric. The VW T-Cross (+360.4%) continues to score stupendous year-on-year gains at #8 while the Skoda Kodiaq (+53.6%) also shoots up at #9.
