No surprise here, it’s yet another record month for Turkish new light vehicle sales at +30.6% year-on-year to 105,990 units, keep in mind February 2023 was also a record at the time. Year-to-date, volumes are up 39.6% to 185,691. Fiat (-29.8%) goes completely against the surging market but manages to keep the lead of the brands ranking at 12.8% share. Renault (+45.4%) is catching up at 12.2%. Citroen (+117.3%) soars seven spots on January to land in the third position with 7.3% share. We have no record of Citroen ever reaching a higher ranking, volume and share before. In contrast Ford (-11.9%) struggles at #4. Toyota (+233.9%), Volkswagen (+43.2%) and Opel (+34%) all beat the market below, while newcomer Chery is down three spots on January to #9 but still manages a strong 4.7% share. Local EV maker Togg is down 7 ranks to #22: is the honeymoon period already over?
The Renault Clio takes the lead of the models ranking, bypassing the Fiat Egea Sedan. The Toyota Corolla Sedan is up three spots on January to #3, followed by the Renault Megane Sedan and Fiat Egea Cross. The performance of the month is delivered by the Citroen C4 X up to #6, making Turkiye the only market where this model is successful. The Chery Tiggo 8 Pro, Dacia Sandero Stepway, Skoda Octavia and Opel Mokka round out the Top 10.
