According to data by SMMT, the English new car market is up 18.3% year-on-year in 2023 to 1,624,301 sales. Keep in mind this is a zoom in by nation with the overall UK market covered in our UK Full Year 2023 update. The Ford Puma (+42.6%) surges ahead to its first win with 2.5% share, knocking down the Nissan Qashqai (-1.5%) and Tesla Model Y (+1.2%). The Vauxhall Corsa (+21.1%), Kia Sportage (+18.7%) and Hyundai Tucson (+21.5%) all beat the market to bypass the Mini (+3.9%) down three spots to #7. The Nissan Juke (#8) and Audi A3 (#9) enter the Top 10.
