Colombia November 2023: Toyota repeats at #1, Kia Picanto scores first win
The Kia Picanto is the best-selling vehicle in Colombia in November.
Colombian new car sales sink -18.1% year-on-year in November to 18,561 units, the lowest result for the month since 2008. The year-to-date tally is now off -30.6% to 166,954. Toyota (+9.8%) goes against the grain to repeat at #1 and score its 4th ever monthly win in Colombia. Chevrolet (-31.4%) overtakes a freefalling Renault (-48.9%) to #2. Kia (+22.7%), Nissan (+112.2%), Hyundai (+73.7%) and Ford (+6.7%) also defy the negative market in the remainder of the Top 10.
Over in the models aisle, the Kia Picanto (+37.7%) manages what is believed to be its first ever pole position. It distances last month’s leader the Mazda CX-30 (+129.6%) and the Toyota SW4 Fortuner (+6.2%) up to a record third place. The Renault Duster (-41.8%) implodes at #4 but remains the overall best-seller year-to-date. The next five models are in negative, with the Chevrolet Tracker (-5.1%) and Toyota Hilux (-11.4%) faring best. The Hyundai HB20S Accent (+267.6%) closes out the Top 10 in spectacular fashion. Notice also the Ford Escape (+322.2%), Toyota Corolla Cross (+126.1%) and Kia Rio (+277.8%) scoring fantastic year-on-year upticks.
