Slovenia August 2023: VW T-Roc #1, first Top 10 finish for the Tesla Model 3
The VW T-Roc is the best-selling vehicle in Slovenia in August.
The Slovenian new car market edges down -3% year-on-year in August to 3,240 sales, meaning the year-to-date tally is now up 4.1% to 34,326. Volkswagen (-26.4%) remains the most popular carmaker in the country with 13.5% share and despite a hefty loss. Skoda (+10.9%) overtakes Renault (+25.6%) to snap the 2nd spot whereas the next four brands all fall faster than the market: Kia (-19.2%) is the hardest hit followed by Hyundai (-14.5%), Toyota (-12%) and Peugeot (-9.4%). Just below, Tesla (+1500%) is up spectacularly to #8, its best performance since last March. Further down, MG (+3600%), Mitsubishi (+94.1%), Porsche (+50%), Cupra (+48%), Audi (+34.5%) and Opel (+33.3%) stand out.
Over in the models lane, the VW T-Roc (-10%) is the best-seller with 3.1% of the market ahead of the Peugeot 208 (+40.9%) surging 16 spots on July to #2 vs. #19 year-to-date. The Skoda Kodiaq (+72%) is up 14 ranks on last month to #3, distancing the Skoda Octavia (-30.2%) still by far #1 year-to-date and the Tesla Model Y (+788.9%). The Renault Captur (-30.2%) struggles at #6 whereas the Toyota Yaris Cross (+22.4%) is solid year-on-year but drops five spots on July to #7. First Top 10 finish in Slovenia for the Tesla Model 3 at #8. Below, the VW Taigo (+18.5%) and Hyundai i20 (+181.8%) round out the Top 10 in spectacular fashion.
