Luxembourg August 2023: BMW best-seller for the first time in two years

BMW is the most popular carmaker in Luxembourg in August.

New car sales in Luxembourg advance 15.1% year-on-year in August to 3,416 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 19.7% to 34,118. This month BMW (+17.7%) takes the lead of the brands ranking for the first time since September 2021 with a strong 10.9% share. Volkswagen (-1.1%) is relegated to 2nd place with 10.5% of the market. Mercedes (-14.7%) and Audi (-27.5%) both struggle and exchange their position vs. July. Skoda (+26.6%) is strong at #5 while Tesla (+1023.1%) surges ahead at #6 with 4.3% share vs. #9 and 3.1% year-to-date. Fiat (+133.9%), Mini (+81.7%), Dacia (+136.4%), Cupra (+216.7%) and MG (+942.9%) also post fantastic gains below.
