Argentina May 2023: Peugeot (+73.1%), Citroen (+65.6%) stand out in market up 13.3%

The new Citroen C3 is a success in Argentina.

37,182 light vehicles hit Argentinean roads in May, a 13.3% year-on-year improvement. The year-to-date volume is now up 11.8% to 195,078. Toyota (+7.6%) trails the market but easily hold onto the brands top spot with 21.6% share, distancing Fiat (+0.2%) at 13% and up one spot on April to #2. Renault (+37.5%) is in great shape at #3 ahead of Volkswagen (-2.2%) in difficulty and Peugeot (+73.1%) euphoric. Citroen (+65.6%) and Nissan (+39.7%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10 while below, Audi (+228.2%), Foton (+220%) and Mercedes (+26.4%) stand out.

Over in the models lane, the Fiat Cronos (+29.7%) is once again threatened by the Peugeot 208 (+107.9%) while the VW Amarok (+56%) overtakes its archenemy the Toyota Hilux (+43.3%) to #3 overall. The Toyota Etios (+18.4%) climbs back up to #5 like YTD, it is followed by the Renault Kangoo (+59.2%), Ford Ranger (+92.2%) and Nissan Frontier (+87.2%) ensuring the Top 8 entirely beats the market. The Citroen C3 (+70200%) thanks to a new model, the Chevrolet Tracker (+261.5%) and Renault Stepway (+103.3%) also shine further down.
