Slovenia April 2023: Skoda Octavia reclaims lead, Renault Austral in Top 10
The Renault Austral signs its first ever Top 10 finish in Slovenia.
4,338 new cars found a buyer in Slovenia in April, a 10.7% improvement on a year ago. This means the year-to-date tally is now up 6.7% to 17,788 units. Atop the brands ranking, both Volkswagen (+22.8%) and Skoda (+63.4%) vastly outpace the market as does Renault (+17.2%) at #3. Kia (+8.2%) is a tad below the average growth rate whereas Toyota (-9.9%), Peugeot (+0.5%) and Hyundai (-40.4%) underperform. Seat (+57.9%) and Audi (+31.3%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10 while Dacia (+10.6%) matches the market. Further down, notice MG (+1780%), Tesla (+925%), Suzuki (+200%) and Mitsubishi (+118.8%) all posting sensational gains.
Over in the models lane, the Skoda Octavia (+535.7%) reclaims the top spot it held over the Full Year 2022 with a dominant 4.1% share. It now ranks #2 year-to-date with 2.9% share, below the Renault Clio at 3.7%. The Clio (-22.6%) rallies back up 12 spots on March to #3 for the month despite a heavy year-on-year loss. The VW T-Roc (-27.6%), leader a year ago, is also hit hard but manages to rank #2. The Renault Captur (+60.6%) is very strong at #4 just above the Toyota Yaris Cross (+11%). The remainder of the Top 10 all smash the market growth rate with double-digit gains: the Peugeot 2008 (+214.8%) is the most dynamic followed by the VW Tiguan (+138.5%), Golf (+73.6%) and Polo (+26.9%). Finally the Renault Austral breaks into the Top 10 at #10.
