Argentina April 2023: Peugeot 208 threatens Fiat Cronos
The Peugeot 208 hits a record 10.5% share in Argentina in April.

The Argentinean new light vehicle market gains 9.7% year-on-year in April to 32,385 sales, leading to a year-to-date tally up 12.8% over the same period in 2022. Toyota (+21.6%) easily retains the brands top spot with a dominant 22.9% share, Renault (+31.3%) accelerates to 2nd place overall with 12.7% share vs. #5 and 10.8% year-to-date. The French manufacturer topples Fiat (-7.3%) down to #3. Peugeot (+36.2%) also vastly outpaces the market and gains one spot on March to #4. Volkswagen (-6.4%) is in difficulty and rounds out the Top 5. Nissan (+35.1%), Jeep (+22%) and Ford (+17.9%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10 whereas Citroen (-26.2%) and Chevrolet (-10.2%) tank.
Model-wise, the Fiat Cronos (+15.4%) is faithful to its traditional pole position but this month it is threatened by the Peugeot 208, up 61.7% to a record 10.5% share and ending the month only 84 sales below the Cronos. Strikingly, the entire Top 10 beats the market with double-digit gains. The Toyota Hilux (+26.5%) follows in third place while the VW Amarok (+61.4%) and Ford Ranger (+46.4%) make it three pickups in the Top 5. The Nissan Frontier (+63%) delivers the largest gain in the Top 10 with the Toyota Etios (+51.1%), Renault Sandero (+44.9%), Kangoo (+33.1%) and Toyota Yaris (+14.2%) also very dynamic.
