Uruguay March 2023: Citroen (+225.6%), Peugeot (+197.8%) defy market off -8.8%

Citroen sales are up 3-fold over the same month a year ago.

The Uruguayan new light vehicle market returns to negative in March at -8.8% year-on-year to 5,286 sales. The Q1 volume is up 2% to 12,729. Suzuki (+19.2%) is up five spots on February to snap the monthly crown for the first time since last October, sporting an excellent 14% share. Chevrolet (-16.5%) ranks in 2nd place with 10.4% and saves its YTD top spot by just 39 sales over Suzuki. Leader last month, Fiat (-66.2%) implodes to #3 in March. Volkswagen (+3.8%) and Citroen (+225.6%) defy the negative market to round out the Top 5. Peugeot (+197.8%), Nissan (+35.7%) and Toyota (+5%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10.
