New Caledonia (France) March 2023: Ford Ranger and MG 3 top weak market (-20.8%)

The MG 3 is the second best-selling vehicle in New Caledonia in March.

New Caledonia is a French archipelago located north east of Australia. New light vehicles there are down a painful -20.8% year-on-year in March, leading to a year-to-date volume down -11.1% to 1,770. Toyota (-33.3%) continues to lead the brands charts at 15.1% share and despite a hefty year-on-year loss. Kia (-20.3%) is up eight spots on February to land at #2 with 8.2% share vs. 5.3% so far this year, while Ford (-32.9%) is up to #3 both for the month and year-to-date. MG (+221.4%) scores its 2nd best monthly ranking at #4 after finishing at #3 in December. Isuzu (+440%) and Mitsubishi (+300%) also completely ignore the declining market.

The Ford Ranger (+28.6%) takes the lead of the models charts for the first time since November 2018. It ranks #2 year-to-date vs. #3 over the Full Year 2022. The surprise of the month is in 2nd place: the MG3 holds a fantastic 5.5% share and places at #9 over Q1 vs. #49 over the Full Year 2022. The Isuzu D-Max (+575%) and Toyota Hilux (-64.4%) make it three pickups in the Top 4, with the latter holding onto the YTD top spot. The Mitsubishi ASX (+1800%), Hyundai Staria (+1200%), Toyota Raize (+500%) and Toyota RAV4 (+41.2%) also impress.
