Pakistan September 2022: Suzuki Swift up to #2 in market off -50.7%

The Suzuki Swift is up to #2 in Pakistan in September.

According to data by PAMA, sales of locally-produced light vehicles in Pakistan implode for the third month in a row in September at -50.7% to just 10,953 units. The year-to-date tally remains in positive for now at +4.3% and 177,736 sales. Suzuki (-46.3%) manages to keep its loss below the market rate to reach 54.8% share vs. 53% so far this year. Toyota (-58.4%) and Honda (-64.8%) on the other hand suffer more than the market to round out the brands podium. Hyundai (+0.3%) once again goes against the current negative context yet a lot less spectacularly than last month. Model-wise, the Suzuki Alto (-47.8%) remains by far the most popular but drops to 21.7% share vs. 27.1% year-to-date. The hero of the month is the Suzuki Swift (+1351.7%) displaying an extravagant year-on-year gain an lifting 7 spots on August to #2. It now ranks #8 year-to-date. The Hyundai Tucson (+15.4%) and Elantra (+3.6%) are the only additional year-on-year gainer in the rest of the charts.
