Finland July 2022: Toyota C-HR up to #3, Skoda Enyaq at record #7, market freefalling again (-25.2%)
The Skoda Enyaq is up to a record 7th place in Finland in July.
New car sales in Finland continue to freefall in July at -25.2% year-on-year to 5,372 units. This brings the year-to-date volume down -23% to 47,975 vs. 62,344 a year ago. Toyota (-17.8%) resists better than the market but its share is below its YTD level at 17.1% vs. 18.6%. Reversely Volkswagen (-22.2%) also managing a better hold than the market, is at a strong 12.8% share vs. 8.6% so far this year. Both Kia (-29.3%) and Skoda (-30.4%) implode and hold onto their June ranking at #3 and #4 respectively. In fact the entire Top 6 is unchanged on June with Mercedes (-12.5%) and BMW (-5.4%) in tow and gaining share year-on-year. BMW is the best performer in a Top 10 entirely in negative. Below, Renault (+57.7%), Dacia (+27.8%), Cupra (+70%) above Seat again, Porsche (+33.3%) and Polestar (+88.9%) brave the negative conditions with double-digit upticks while Tesla goes from 1 lonely sale in July 2021 to 28 this month.
Over in the models ranking, it’s another podium 100% Toyota with the Corolla (-44.4%), Yaris (-22.1%) and C-HR (+14.4%) in the lead, the latter up 18 spots on June to #3 and 3% share. The Skoda Octavia (-44.1%) is in complete freefall but climbs back up six ranks on last month to #4, distancing the Toyota RAV4 (-32%) and Kia Ceed (-36.6%). The Skoda Enyaq (+6.9%) is up to a record 7th place with 2% share ahead of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross (+61.7%) and the new Toyota Yaris Cross down two spots on June to #9. The Nissan Qashqai (-48.7%) is in total perdition and rounds out the Top 10 vs. #4 year-to-date. Notice also the Ford Focus (+480%), Skoda Kodiaq (+86.8%) and BMW X3 (+51.3%) scoring fantastic gains below.
