Iceland April 2022: Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross best-seller

The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is #1 in Iceland in April and YTD.

1,951 new vehicles found a buyer in Iceland in April and 6,542 year-to-date. Toyota tightens its grip on the market with a round 20% share for the month, almost double any other manufacturer as Hyundai is #2 at 10.2% and Mitsubishi #3 at 7.8%. Below Kia (7.7%), Land Rover claims a brilliant 5th place with 3.1% share and distances Volvo (2.9%) and Volkswagen (2.9%). Jeep, Mazda and Peugeot round out the Top 10.

In the models ranking, the Top 4 is entirely composed of SUVs, with the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross in the lead both for the month at 7.8% share and over Q1 and 5.9%. It is followed by the Toyota RAV4 at 6.8% and the Hyundai Tucson at 6.3%. These are the only three models to surpass 3% share in April. The Toyota Prado, Yaris and Corolla hold the next spots ahead of the Jeep Compass, Kia Ceed and Xceed. The Land Rover Discovery Sport points its bonnet at an outstanding 10th place. Among recent launches, notice the Hyundai Ioniq 5 at #12, the Polestar 2 at #14, Kia EV6 at #17 and Skoda Enyaq at #20.
