Bahrain March 2022: Nissan Sunny takes the lead, Haval in Top 10, market down -13%
The Nissan Sunny is the most popular vehicle in Bahrain in April.
2,115 new light vehicles hit the road in Bahrain in April, that’s a -13% decline over a year ago. Toyota (-19.7%) falls faster than the market but easily retains the brands top spot with 33.9% share exactly three times as much as #2 Nissan (-6.6%) at 11.3% of the market. Hyundai (-11%) stays in third place above Isuzu (+27.5%) and Honda (+1.7%) defying the market with year-on-year gains. Kia (+57.4%) at #7, MG (+39.7%) and most of all Haval (+1014.3%) are also up in the remainder of the Top 10. Below, Changan (+66.7%) also makes itself noticed at #11. All-in-all, Chinese brands account for 10.7% of the Bahrain new light vehicle market in March vs. 4.4% a year ago.
Over in the models ranking, we have a change of guard atop the charts: the Nissan Sunny (+65.9%) takes the lead above the Isuzu TF (aka D-Max, +32.1%) with the Toyota Hilux (-2.1%) taking the third spot. Leader for the past 8 consecutive years, the Toyota Land Cruiser (-68.5%) falls to #4 for the month, no doubt due to availability issues. The Toyota Yaris (-1.3%) stays in 5th place above the Toyota Hiace (-28.6%) making it four Toyotas in the Top 6. The Honda Civic (+50%) and most strikingly the Haval H6 (+657.1%) also make a splash in the remainder of the Top 10, while the Hyundai Accent (+1.5%) is a lot more muted but still in positive.
