North Macedonia January 2022: Toyota Corolla leads, VW Up and Renault Express shine in market off -18.2%

The Renault Express lands directly at #5 in North Macedonia in January.

According to our Central European partner CE Auto, new car sales in North Macedonia drop a further -18.2% in January to 302 units after already falling -21% in January 2021. The Toyota Corolla (+122.2%) almost doubles its market share vs. FY2021 at 6.6%, distancing the VW Up which scores its first Top 10 finish in the country since January 2020 and by far its best ranking ever at #2 (previous best #7). In fact the entire Top 5 wasn’t in the December Top 10, showing a market volatility natural for such low volumes. The Dacia Duster (+41.7%) climbs back to #3 vs. #5 over the Full Year 2021, the Mitsubishi Space Star is #4 and the Renault Express makes its first ever appearance in the North Macedonian Top 10 directly at #5. Notice also the Opel Corsa at #6 and the Suzuki Jimny at #9.
