Turkey January 2022: Hyundai (+163.6%) shows off in market down -12.8%
Hyundai ranks #4 carmaker in Turkey in January.
New light vehicle sales in Turkey drop -12.8% year-on-year in January to 38,131 units however the comparison base in 2021 was particularly high as it was an all-time record January at 43.728. Fiat (+36.2%) and Renault (+20.3%) both ignore the market drop to improve their share to 18% and 12.3% respectively vs. 16.4% and 11% over FY2021. Ford (+3.4%) is shyer but still up while Hyundai (+163.6%) scores the most spectacular gain in the Top 10 by far. Citroen (+28%) and Dacia (+27%) also impress, Opel (-0.1%) is stable but Volkswagen (-65.4%), Toyota (-48.7%) and Peugeot (-42.4%) all implode. The year-on-year gains are much rarer further down, with Isuzu (+169.2%), DS (+55%), Iveco (+29.7%), Volvo (+4.7%) and Land Rover (+1.3%) defying the market slump.
