Turkey Full Year 2021: Toyota (+30.2%), Hyundai (+35%) defy market down -4.6%

The Turkish new light vehicle market continues to yoyo up and down, this time down -4.6% year-on-year to 737.350 units. Fiat (-11.7%) loses more ground than the market but easily remains in pole position with 16.4% share, distancing Renault (-19.9%) in more trouble and seeing its share drop over two percentage points to 11%. Volkswagen (+5.3%) bucks the negative trends and overtakes Ford (-27.3%) to clinch the third step of the podium. For its part Toyota (+30.2%) passes Peugeot (-10.8%) to rank 5th and Hyundai (+35%) is up two spots to #7. Dacia (+13.2%) remains at #8 while Citroen (+4.7%) is up one rank to #9 and Honda (+26.7%) up two to #10. Maserati (+114.9%), Isuzu (+103.1%), Aston Martin (+94.1%), Lexus (+62.2%), Iveco (+43.3%), DS (+32.3%), Suzuki (+28.5%) and Subaru (+18.3%) also impress with double-digit year-on-year gains.

Over in the models ranking, the Fiat Egea (-20.8%) celebrates 7 consecutive years in the Turkish pole position but sees its market share drop by two percentage points to 9.7%. The Toyota Corolla for its part is up three spots to #2, dislodging the Renault Clio (-26.6%) just as the Ford Transit/Tourneo Courier (-14%) remains in 4th place. The Renault Megane (-25.6%) is down two ranks to #5 ahead of the Fiat Doblo (+20.5%) and Honda Civic (+10.4%). The Dacia Duster (+9.4%) also shines in the remainder of the Top 10. Below, notice the Hyundai i20 (+120.6%) and VW Polo (+83.6%) posting fantastic gains while the Dacia Dokker (#20), Dacia Sandero (#23), Skoda Octavia (#24) and Citroen C3 (#25) break into the Top 25.
