United Arab Emirates 9 months 2021: Suzuki (+190.2%) helps lift market up 27.1%

The Suzuki Swift Dzire ranks #10 in the UAE so far in 2021.

The UAE new car market is up 27.1% year-on-year over the first 9 months of 2021 to 140,679 registrations. Toyota (+19.5%) and Nissan (+12.1%) both trail the market significantly but remain the outright best-sellers, holding 51.1% of the market combined (32.2% and 18.9%). Mitsubishi (+47.4%) soars to 11.1% share while Kia (+49%) is up to 3.9%. Suzuki (+190.2%) posts by far the best score in the Top 20 and climbs from #14 over the Full Year 2020 directly to 5th place so far this year. It knocks Lexus (+14.6%) down to #6. GMC (+74.8%), Chevrolet (+36%) and Hyundai (+30.6%) also outpace the market in the remainder of the Top 10. Changan (+2334.3%), Alfa Romeo (+294.4%), Fiat (+269.4%), Volvo (+118.2%), Peugeot (+77.6%), Ram (+55.6%), Mazda (+51.1%) and Jeep (+44.3%) all impress further down.

Model-wise, the Toyota Land Cruiser (+9.6%) topples the Nissan Patrol (-11.9%) to take the overall lead with 7.6% share, while the Toyota Hilux (+21.3%) rounds out the podium at 6.1% of the market. Below, both the Nissan Sunny (+66.1%) and Mitsubishi Attrage (+136.5%) post fantastic gains, but they can’t match the Suzuki Swift Dzire (+1380.7%) leaping up from #70 over the Full Year 2020 directly to #10. The Toyota Hiace (+62.1%) also shines in the remainder of the Top 10 just as the Toyota Prado (-15.6%) and Mitsubishi Pajero (-7.2%) struggle. The Nissan Xterra (#24) is the best-selling recent launch, well above the Mitsubishi Xpander (#66) and Toyota Corolla Cross (#79).
