Taiwan November 2021: Toyota Corolla Cross above 10% share, Tesla Model 3 #10 in market off -13.4%
The Toyota Corolla Cross holds 10.1% of the Taiwanese market in November.
The Taiwanese new car market slides down -13.4% year-on-year to 40,103 registrations, tilting the year-to-date tally into negative territory at -0.6% to 409,552. Toyota (-6.3%) once again resists better than the market and improves its share to 31.1% vs. 27.9% so far this year. Ford (-9.2%) and Honda (-9.9%) also manage to keep their loss into the single-digits to complete the podium. Nissan (-29.3%) on the other hand skids down, as does Mercedes (-36.1%). Tesla (+169.7%) surges to 9th place overall while BMW (-2.8%) is almost stable.
Model-wise, the Toyota Corolla Cross (-24%) continues to dominate head and shoulders and crosses the 10% share milestone this month at 10.1%. The Toyota RAV4 (+19.3%) sports a solid year-on-year uptick to stay in 2nd place while the Toyota Corolla Altis (-2%) is back up one spot on October to ensure the podium is 100% Toyota. The Honda CR-V (+1.9%) steps down to #4, distancing the Ford Kuga (-24.9%) up three to #5 and the Ford Focus (+20%) down one to #6. The Toyota Yaris (+16.7%) and Nissan Kicks (+17.5%) also impress in the remainder of the Top 10 while the Tesla Model 3 soars to #10 overall with 3.1% share.
