Slovakia June 2021: Hyundai i30 up to #2 in market up a shy 9.6%
The Hyundai i30 is only 11 sales off the Slovak pole position in June.
For the first time in years we are able to share with you a complete All-models ranking for Slovakia. This market is up a shy 9.6% year-on-year in June to 8.223 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 13% to 38.449. Volumes are still significantly lower than pre-pandemic at -12.5% on June 2019. Brand leader Skoda (-6.8%) bucks the positive trend and lodges a weak 20% share vs. 23.2% year-to-date whereas Kia (+61.7%) and Hyundai (+31.7%) are both in fantastic shape to round out the podium with 11.1% and 11% share respectively. In fact the entire Top 5 outpaces the market with Volkswagen (+21.5%) and Toyota (+63.1%) also shining below. Mercedes (+52.7%), Opel (+48.7%) and Suzuki (+39.4%) post stellar gains in the remainder of the Top 10 whereas Dacia (-24.1%) and Peugeot (-22.7%) sink. Further down, notice also Nissan (+207%), Lexus (+163.6%), Seat (+66.7%) and Mazda (+37.3%).
Over in the (complete) models ranking, the Skoda Fabia retains the top spot it holds year-to-date but ends the month with 5.3% share, that’s one percentage point of share below its 6.3% YTD share. The Fabia is even teased for #1 by the Hyundai i30, lurking just 11 sales below at 5.1% share vs. 4.5% YTD. The Skoda Octavia is knocked down to #3 at 4.8%, while the Kia Ceed is up 3 spots on its YTD level to #4, pushing the Skoda Kamiq down to #5. The Toyota RAV4 is up 5 ranks on YTD to #6 and the VW T-Cross up four to #8. In contrast, the Hyundai Tucson is down two to #7 and the Skoda Karoq down four to #10. Notice also the Kia Rio up to #13, the Toyota Yaris up to #14 and the Dacia Duster up to #16.
