Ukraine April 2021: Chery up to #6 brand in market up 59.7% on two years ago

Chery sales are up 477.8% year-on-year in Ukraine in April.

New car sales in Ukraine surge 200.8% year-on-year in April to 11.022 units, lifting the year-to-date tally up 30% to 31.118. More significantly, April 2021 sales are up a whopping 59.7% on April 2019 pre-pandemic levels. In the brands ranking, Toyota (+278%) improves to 16.1% share vs. 15% year-to-date whereas Renault (+57.6%) drops to 12.1% vs. 13% so far this year. Kia (+220.5%) and Skoda (+242.2%) also beat the market but it’s Volkswagen (+826.9%) and Chery (+477.8%) that post the largest gains in the Top 10, the latter hitting a record 6th place with 4.2% share. Suzuki (+289.9%) and Peugeot (+213%) also shine.

Model-wise, the Kia Sportage (+200.5%) matches the market to edge pst the Toyota RAV4 (+255.3%) for just 4 units, with the RAV4 conserving the year-to-date lead. The Renault Duster (+50%) ensures the podium is 100% SUV as it is also the case year-to-date. Renault places three nameplates in the Top 5 wit the Sandero (+75.4%) at #4 and the Logan (+43.1%) at #5. The Toyota Prado (+298.6%) is up three spots on March to #6, distancing the VW Touareg (+1823.1%) down three to #7. The Toyota Camry (+356.9%) is up 62 ranks on last month to land at #8, the Peugeot 301 (+221.2%) is up 8 to #9 and the Chery Tiggo 4 (+19100%) up 18 to #11.
