Cyprus May 2021: 9 SUVs in Top 9, VW T-Roc runaway leader in market up 30.1%

The VW T-Roc is now the best-selling vehicle in Cyprus year-to-date.

According to data shared by our local partners SEMO Cyprus and INNOSOFT, the Cyprus new car market soars 30.1% year-on-year in May to 1.028 registrations, lifting the year-to-date tally up 19.1% to 4.699. The VW T-Roc (+684.6%) is up 8-fold year-on-year to take command of the Cyprus charts both for the month at 9.9% share and year-to-date at 5.5%. Kia monopolises the remainder of the podium with the Sportage (+2.1%) at #2 and the Stonic (+88%) at #3. The Nissan Juke (+115.8%) follows at #4 but ranks #2 so far in 2020. It distances the Toyota C-HR (+21.9%) and Hyundai Tucson (+50%). The Nissan Qashqai (+13.8%), Toyota RAV4 (-37.5%) and VW T-Cross (+7.7%) ensure the May Top 9 is entirely composed of SUVs.
