Saudi Arabia January-April 2021: MG up to #6, Toyota Camry advances to top spot in market up 27.6%

The Toyota Camry is the best-selling vehicle in Saudi Arabia so far in 2021.

The Saudi new car market lurches up 27.6% year-on-year over the first four months of 2021 to 189.038 vs. 148.149 over the same period in 2020. The top of the brands ranking is very stable compared to Full Year 2020 figures: Toyota drops one percentage point to 26.9% share, distancing Hyundai at 18% and Nissan at 6.6%. Mazda remains in 4th place but drops from 6% to 5.2% ahead of Isuzu stable at 5%. MG continues to climb the Saudi ladder and is up 3 spots on FY2020 to #6, knocking down Kia, Changan and Chevrolet. Now reporting sales for the region, Haval appears at #13 and Great Wall at #18.

The models ranking gets a reshuffle this year, with the Toyota Camry advancing to first place with 6.1% share and the Hyundai Accent up two spots to #2 and 5.4%. Leader over the Full Year 2020 with 5.9% share, the Hyundai Elantra drops to #3 and 4.5%, just above the Toyota Yaris at 4.4%. The Toyota Hilux is down two ranks to #5, the Toyota Corolla is up one to #6 and the Nissan Sunny up two to #7. Excellent performances of the Hyundai Sonata up 6 spots to #8 and the Ford Taurus up ten to #10. Notice also the Mazda CX-30 up 41 ranks to #19, the Haval H6 at #35, the Great Wall Wingle at #52, the Kia Sonet landing at #54, the Great Wall Poer at #76 and the new Changan Hunter at #77.
